The site itself is straightforward, a medium-sized Mayan ceremonial center occupied between roughly 200 BC and 900 AD, with two plazas, 13 visible structures, and two climbable pyramids you can walk in 60–90 minutes.The decisions actually worth thinking about are which version to book (Altun Ha alone vs. the cave-tubing or Belize Zoo combo) and whether a cruise-line excursion is worth the premium over an independent operator.
